Sweet and Spicy Cashews
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 25-30 minutes
Serving Size: about 2 cups
Ingredients
2 cups of unsalted, raw cashews (or any nut you like)
1 large egg white
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/3 cup of light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon of chili powder
1/2 teaspoon to 1 teaspoon of thyme
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
In a medium sized bowl, whisk together egg white and salt with about 1 Tablespoon of water. Add the cashews and mix making sure all are coated. Let the nuts drain for about 10 minutes so they are not thick.
While the nuts drain, mix together the brown sugar, thyme and chili powder until combined.
After cashews have drained toss them with the brown sugar mixture. Make sure everything gets coated.
Add the cashews to the sheet pan, single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes turning halfway to make sure evenly cooked.
Let cool for 10 minutes.
Notes
will last up to 10 days, but caution can be eaten in 10 minutes, hehe….
