1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 medium sized soft cheese like Brie, room temperature
1 egg, whisked
roughly 12 asparagus stalks, trimmed
1/2 teaspoon, garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Italian Seasoning, optional
Lemon zest, top at end
capers and pine nuts, optional
salt and pepper
optional: caramelized onions, prosciutto, fresh egg on top and lemon
1.Preheat oven to 375, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2.In a pan lay out the puff pastry pinching the ends.
3. Lightly layer the cheese on the puff pastry and add the egg on top of Brie
4. Line up your asparagus and add any additional toppings. I always just drizzle the capers on so not to many in one area.
5. Bake for 20 minutes and top with the lemon zest
Perfect for Easter, Mother’s Day, meatless Monday option. This is a great appetizer to have out for guests for a party, just cut the pieces a little smaller for easier bites.
